Life or Death
You have to love God’s Word. He gives you two choices and tells you which one to pick. I’m talking about Deuteronomy 30 in case you’re wondering. He tells us all about the blessings in store for those who follow His commands in Chapter 28, and we love the blessings, don’t we? We’re blessed in the city and the fields, blessed going out and coming back in, we will prosper in all we set our hands to, our crops will be blessed, our livestock will be blessed, our breadbaskets will overflow, we will be victorious in every battle, and He’ll take our enemies captive – that is some good stuff!
But He also gives us a strong visual in Chapter 29 about what to expect if we don’t obey. There will be famine in the land, confusion among us, disease and plague, no rain will fall so the land will yield no crops, our enemies will easily defeat us, we’ll be cursed coming and going, we will fail at everything we attempt, our animals will starve and we’ll have nothing to eat. There will be battles breaking out everywhere and we will be slaves to our enemies, taken captive on every front. My, how the tables have turned.
So in Chapter 30, the Lord says we have an opportunity to turn from our wickedness and pledge to serve Him only as our forefathers did. We always have a choice – will we choose to live or choose to die? And here is the point – in verse 19, He tells us to choose life. The Bible is really an open book test. The problem is that we’re often too busy to study…What I hope to get across to you is that even if we fail miserably, God’s isn’t mad at us. We can always take the test over. And if we need help, He’s right there. He is a good, good Father, One Who will give us the answer if we will only ask Him.
Sometimes, we all need a little help seeing the forest for the trees. We get so confused by life’s circumstances and all the busyness of just surviving day to day that we feel as if we’re barely treading water. A life coach can be a good neutral third party to listen and serve as a sounding board to help clarify where you are and where you want to go. A Christian life coach can help you to better discern the voice of God in the midst of all the noise and ensure that you are on the path He has established for you. Sometimes a moment of prayer and delving in the Word is all that’s needed. Feel free to contact me today and see if a few sessions might not help you get back on the road to life again.
